Mission
At the Building Training and Assessment Center (BTAC) at New Mexico State University, our mission is to empower the next generation of clean energy leaders through hands-on learning, innovative research, and real-world impact. We believe that a sustainable future begins with accessible, high-quality training opportunities that prepare individuals for meaningful careers in the evolving energy landscape. By combining academic knowledge with technical experience, we’re building a workforce that’s ready to lead the charge in renewable energy and energy efficiency.
BTAC is more than just a training center it’s a community-driven initiative built on collaboration, innovation, and purpose. We partner with local businesses, educational institutions, and tribal organizations across the Southwest to provide energy assessments and support systems that help reduce waste, increase productivity, and drive long-term sustainability. Our work is rooted in serving the people and industries of our region, while contributing to national goals for clean energy development and climate resilience.
Looking ahead, we are committed to expanding our reach, deepening our partnerships, and continuing to innovate in how we teach, assess, and apply energy-saving solutions. Whether through capstone projects, industry-led training modules, or cutting-edge research, BTAC is dedicated to making clean energy more effective, accessible, and equitable for New Mexico and beyond.
